The course on Christian eschatology studies both the finality of the cosmos as well as the finality of man. As such, this course is divided into two parts: ‘Collective Eschatology’ which focuses on the final fulfilment of the world as a whole and ‘Individual Eschatology’ which is about the final fulfilment of the individual human being. The principal topic that will be studied during this course is what is traditionally known as the ‘doctrine of the last things’ which is about death, judgement, heaven, hell, purgatory and the second coming of Christ. During the course of studies, important texts from the Magisterium of the Church on the aforementioned topics will be reviewed alongside more contemporary reflections on death and eternal life.
